Materials & Care

Berllowe promises to offer only the best quality jewelry to our customers. Our jewelry is made with with .925 sterling silver, stainless steel, zinc alloy, and high quality PVD plating. All our pieces are hypoallergenic and nickel-free.

What is Zinc Alloy?

Zinc alloy is:

  • Durable

Zinc alloy will keep corrosion out, which will mean that the metals will serve you longer. The alloy is hard and will form a zinc carbonate layer, which prevents further reactions.

  • Corrosion-resistant

Most metals will often react to air or water in the environment. Well, once the zinc alloy forms the zinc carbonate layer, there will be no more reactions. Corrosion is therefore unheard of with zinc metals.

Fashion jewelry (including plated, .925 Sterling Silver), can experience normal wear and tear over time. To extend the life of your jewelry, please give them occasional breaks and to keep them away from any moisture and creams.

Like any other jewelry, proper care is needed to ensure its preservation. Please follow these tips to maintain the quality and prevent early tarnish:

  • Avoid getting excessive sweat on them.
  • Wipe with soft cloth after wearing.
  • Remove your jewelry before bed.
  • Avoid getting chemicals like hand cream and fragrances on them.
  • Avoid bathing, showering or washing your hands with jewelry on.
  • Wait for hand/face cream to dry before putting on any jewelry.
  • If your .925 Sterling Silver jewelry oxidizes, you can easily get rid of the dark marks and tarnish with a polish cloth. Do not use the silver polishing cloth on jewelry that isn't Sterling Silver, as it will remove the protective layer.
